Not everyone has a local Castle but this is ours, Hermitage Castle can be found in Liddesdale. The Visit Scotland website says it’s ‘the guardhouse of the bloodiest valley in Britain’. Well despite all that may have gone on before our valley is now beautifully peaceful. The Image was taken yesterday on the Pixel as always (I’ll stop pointing that out soon) While it was cold the sun was out proving the scottish borders is not just the place of rain and grey skies many think it is.
Sadly the Hermitage is now shut for the winter till April 1st 2017. That said you can still get a good look at it from the road as we did. I must say it’s really far more imposing in real life and as they say its the embodiment of the phrase “sod off” in stone.
